Fracking / Drilling Comment area is open again

Postby Administrator » Fri Feb 17, 2017 10:20 am

Back in 2013 I opened a special area to discuss the fracking that was being proposed back then.

I have reopened this area. At this point in time It is only visible to members of AnthemForum.

If you want to express your thoughts around the proposed fracking / drilling please do it here.

The agenda includes a Broomfield City document and letters from J. Polis and V. Marble.

I'm not sure where I got it but I have a map, dated 1/26/2017, that shows three Extraction Spacing Unit Applications across State Highway 7 from Anthem Ranch. The three sites are noted as March 20-21 Hearings and labeled Dockets 161200489, 160800349, and 1612000490.
Does anybody have information on these sites?

Andy: The map you are referring to came from the City and County of Broomfield's website. Here is what the City told me when I asked them about the map:

The map is attempting to differentiate the portions of the spacing unit applications which are inside versus outside the City and County of Broomfield limits and that is why there is some shading for areas outside of the Broomfield limits. The Anthem Highlands area which is green is part of Docket 160800349. The purple area north and south of State Highway 7 is docket 161200490. The Anthem Ranch area which is shown in yellow is included in Docket 161200489.

It is my understanding that Extraction is proposing to drill wells that are about 2 miles long from the Lowell and Sheridan pads, so the wells they drill from these pads will reach the areas you are referring to. According to the last City Council meeting, Extraction has withdrawn these State (COGCC) "spacing applications." They plan to submit new "spacing applications" in mid to late May and to ask the State for these applications to be heard at the State hearing on July 24-25. Here is a link to the City's latest version of the map showing the applications are withdrawn:
